We are seeking an experienced and dynamic technical manager and team leader to drive our research and development initiatives. As the forefront leader in our technical department, you will be responsible for overseeing the development processes, managing the entire development lifecycle, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. You’ll work closely with our CEO, Product Manager and Client Success Team to align R&D activities with business goals, mentor a talented team, and drive innovation within our company. At Ynput we provide a powerful and scalable pipeline to VFX and animation teams of all sizes, freeing them to focus on creative work. A unique blend of software engineers, CG supervisors, TDs, and artists, offering a 360-degree perspective to optimize animation and vfx workflows. In addition to our robust open-source pipeline platform AYON, we offer consultancy, training, technical development, and dedicated support.
Your responsibilities will be:
- Spearhead the development processes, ensuring efficient and effective execution from concept to release.
- Manage the development cycle using agile methodologies to maintain a high pace of innovation and improvement.
- Oversee DevOps, including continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD), and rigorous testing protocols to optimize product quality and developer productivity.
- Consider the implementation and management of SysOps practices to enhance system operations.
- Track development progress meticulously, providing detailed reports and statistics to stakeholders.
- Collaborate directly with the CEO to align R&D strategies with organizational objectives.
- Fostering our development team through regular 1:1s, performance evaluations, and targeted mentoring.
- Facilitate code reviews to ensure the highest standards of coding practices and to identify areas for improvement.
- Create and nurture a culture of continuous learning and growth within the R&D team.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in building SaaS products.
- Deep understanding of various development frameworks and processes.
- At least 3 years of proven experience in team leadership, with a track record of successful team management and project delivery.
- Empathic manager that can understand the difference between a misstep and a screw up
- Brilliant communication skills, both written and verbal. A lot of the team is fully remote, so the main challenge is keeping everyone engaged and feeling as part of the team.

- Passion for open-source and finding the balance between free and commercial tech.
- Experience with our current tech stack. (Python, Javascript, C++, React, Pyside, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Interest in film and media industry
- Experience with building a complex application involving both web and desktop technologies.
